TERRITORY SALES MANAGER

The Boyds Collection, an industry leader offering high quality giftware, home décor and stationery has an opening for a Territory Sales Manager. This person will be based in their home office and must be able to travel extensively. Ideally, the preferred candidate will live in the Lansing area, although other areas will be considered.
Job Summary
Sell and represent Boyds brands including merchandising and display assistance in Boyds retail stores in order to deliver assigned sales quotas.
Summary of Key Responsibilities:
- Achieve Company quotas on a consistent basis
- Provide industry information and merchandising ideas to help retailers grow their business
- Aggressively sell all promotional programs, introduce new lines on seasonal basis and insure full distribution across key lines
- Identify and qualify potential new accounts
- Drive reorders on existing lines by calling on stores with required frequency
Summary of Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Previous experience in outside sales of giftware or home décor products (other consumer product sales experience will be considered).
- Demonstrate problem-solving and decision making skills from past successful job experience
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills including presentation skills
- Must be able to deal effectively with a variety of tasks, exercising good judgment and tact
- Proficient Computer Skills
- extensive travel required. Overnight travel required up to 20% of the time. Occasional weekend trade show coverage required
