 July 11, 2003 - It's that time again, time to announce the winners of the 2003 Starlight Fun Center Contest. This year, being Boyds and all, we decided to change things up a bit. To help recognize the wonderful dealers who supported Starlight by purchasing more than 30 of our exclusive resin figurine, Joy Angeltouch and Everychild…Cherish Small Miracles, we gave a plaque thanking them for their support of Starlight. To spice things u p even more, we also decided to give the top 5 dealers (those who purchased the most Joy Angeltouch figurines and the plush piece, Jesselyn R. Angel) in each of the 5 regions the opportunity to place two Fun Centers in their hospitals of choice. As an added incentive, we also gave the top 10 dealers overall (denoted with asterisk below) the gift of granting a child's wish. April 25, 2003 - Fun Centers are an important distraction tool for hospitalized children…and many hospitals wait months, even years, to receive one. That's why when Starlight approached us and asked if we could put some more of the money that we had donated to the foundation towards the Fun Center program, we said, Heck Yes!! There were 40 hospitals on Starlight's waiting list and we figured we could handle sponsoring 20 of them, still leaving 20 on the list. But, when Nintendo heard what Boyds was doing, they jumped on the bandwagon, saying they'd match our donation…effectively wiping out Starlight's Fun Center waiting list. Take a look at the list of hospitals where you may find a Boyds/Nintendo Fun Center:

| Things are finally winding down for the 2002 Starlight Fun Center Contest. What that means is 50 of 54 FunCenters have been placed in hospitals around the country. Two hospitals each were selected to receive Fun Centers by the 27 Boyds' dealers who purchased the most Starlight exclusive pieces, Hope Angelwish and Everychild...Bless Our Children Bearstone and Alisa R. Angel plush bear, and donated an extra 50 cents to Starlight! Many thanks to our 27 winners and for all of you who helped make this contest a rousing success.

| March 12, 2002 - We recently journeyed to West Virginia, Buckhannon to be exact, on behalf of the Starlight Children's Foundation and The Boyds Collection, Ltd. to present a Starlight Fun Center to St. Joseph's Hospital. Kim Craft, owner of Bear Heaven, won the opportunity to donate a Fun Center to the hospital of her choice through our Starlight Fun Center contest...and she chose St. Joseph's.
The contest was part of an ongoing campaign created by Boyds to support Starlight, an international non-profit organization that provides entertainment therapies for more than 85,000 seriously ill children each month. What we did is give the top 25 dealers (26 to be exact because we had a tie!!), 5 in each region, the opportunity to place two Starlight Fun Centers in their names and that of Boyds to the hospitals of their choice. Bear Heaven was the overall top retailer in our Starlight Children's Foundation Fun Center contest. Bear Heaven beat out 5,000 participating Boyds dealers with the purchase of 1,200 pieces of the plush and resin figurine made exclusively for Starlight. St. Joseph's is very thankful for the donation and know the children will find the Fun Center very helpful. Thanks to all our wunnerful dealers who participated in our contest, we hope you'll all strive to beat last year's number this year. | |

May 16, 2001 - The Folks at Boyds and The Head Bean Hisself and family recently donated a Starlight Fun Center to Gettysburg Hospital. The Fun Center will be used by patients and outpatients to help make their hospital stay more bearable. This marks the first Fun Center donation from Boyds. Later this summer, Boyds will donate 50 Fun Centers to hospitals across the country in the names of qualifying retailers. To learn more about Starlight Fun Centers, click here. | |
