October 28, 2003 - The Folks at Boyds are goin’ bonkers, jumpin’ for joy, whistlin’, shootin’ off fireworks, causin’ a major commotion in the lil’ ol’ town of Gettysburg. Why? ’Cause our precious Trevor T. Elfbeary with Giddyup won Teddy Bear and Friends Magazine’s prestigious TOBY Industry’s Choice Award in the Small Manufactured Bear, Dressed/Costumed category! (Sorreee, Arnold, ya can’t win ’em all!).

It’s been quite a while since a Boyds Bear design has won a TOBY and the Folks at Boyds couldn’t be happier if we tried (well, we could try, but it might get dangerous)!
So where’d the big announcement take place? Trevor and 15 other winners were honored at The 14th Annual TOBY Awards Ceremony held at the Holiday Inn Hurstbourne, in Louisville, Kentucky, on October 25. The event was held in association with Bright Star Promotions’ 12th Annual Derbytown Teddy Bear Show.

We wanna thank everyone who voted for Trevor and Potsie Daisydew in the TOBY Public’s Choice contest. Without your vote these two dynamic designs would have never made it to the final round-the Industry’s Choice competition. Your continued support means the world to us! Oh, and don’t forget to go out and snatch up a Trevor or two at your local Boyds Dealer...before he’s all sold out!

"Graffitie...Put on Your Happy Face" won the Golden Teddy in the best figurine category. Unfortunately, if you didn't get Graffitie, you're a little too late. He was a special edition piece sold only during our Spring Special Event on March 31st.

The Golden Teddy awards are given to artists and manufacturers for outstanding bear design by Teddy Bear Review magazine. Nominees are determined by industry experts including retailers, artists and editors. Then, the public votes for the winners. And that means it's all thanks to you we got this wunnerful honor.

Back in April you had the opportunity to vote for your favorite teddy bears and other collectibles in Teddy Bear and Friends Magazine. Two of our collectibles, ‘P. Gallery Trunkster,’ and ‘Harry and Millie…Through the Years,’ made the list as the Industry’s Choice. Well, in California over the weekend, the awards were finally handed out (drum roll please!!!) The award for Best Manufactured Ornament/Figurine went to ‘Harry and Millie…Through the Years.’ Unfortunately a red panda beat out our lovable elephant, ‘P. Gallery Trunkster’ in the Best Manufactured Other Collectible Plush/Friends category. If you’re one of those who voted fer ‘Harry and Millie…Through the Years’ or ‘P. Gallery Trunkster,’ bear hugs to you!

Patches won "industry recognition" (we just looove usin' big words) for Best Collectible Plush 12" or Smaller back in January and the Public's Choice award proves that our wunnerful collectors agree! If ya voted fer Patches, bear hugs to you!
