The awards were presented to Boyds for outstanding artistic quality, public appeal and price produced and distributed in 1999. This marks the second consecutive year that Boyds bought, err...won, the NALED achievement award for Doll of the Year

Boyds also placed as runners up (in other words, didn't win) for Collector's Club of the Year, The Loyal Order of Friends of Boyds (F.o.B.); Doll of the Year for "Candice with MacIntosh...Gathering Apples," and Plush Collectible of the Year for "Matthew."

"We think it's a misprint," said Liz Smith, Boyds' VP of Stuff.

NALED presents its achievement awards annually in recognition of "outstanding contributions for the world of collectibles," and to other companies like Boyds. Winners are determined by NALED's 600 members, comprised of leading gift and collectibles retailers nationwide.
